The Big Iron to Big Data Challenge
First, Josh talks about how Syncsort is continuing to innovate to add to our Ironstream capabilities that help organizations make mainframe machine data available to leading platforms for operational analytics like Splunk® Enterprise and Splunk® IT Service Intelligence.
Ironstream is a key solution addressing one very important Big Iron to Big Data challenge. Mainframe volumes continue to go up, driven in part by mobile and other web-based devices. So, how can organizations support the increase in transaction workloads and leverage next-generation analytics to get insights for security, performance and other key business intelligence?
New Product: Ironstream Transaction Tracing
Josh explains that adding on transaction tracing capabilities to Ironstream helps organizations understand how transactions are performing, how they impact the mainframe environment, and if they are causing problems in other places, so they can monitor applications as an end-to-end service. Splunk customers can surface all that data, collate it with data from other data sources across the enterprise, and get a unified view of both how the service is behaving and the performance it is delivering to customers.

Carahsoft Distribution Partnership
Additionally, Josh discusses the partnership with leading government IT solutions provider Carahsoft. Carahsoft will now be a distributor for Ironstream via its network of resellers that specialize in helping government agencies meet regulatory requirements. Like Syncsort, Carahsoft is also a big Splunk partner, and provides Syncsort with an easy route to market and access to various government contract vehicles.
Syncsort’s Continued Growth, Supported by New Owners
Josh also talks about the strong backing of private equity owner Centerbridge Partners on the heels of their $1.26 Billion acquisition of Syncsort and Vision Solutions, which are now combined under Syncsort and led by Josh and his leadership team.
