Introducing Syncsort DMX-h on Apache Ambari for Big Data Integration on Hadoop
We recently announced support for Apache Ambari to make it very simple for administrators to deploy and manage Syncsort DMX-h on Hortonworks. There is an API that can be used to install DMX-h from the command line, and integration with the web-based UI. Our customers will be able to download a package from their Syncsort support page, copy it to their Ambari server, and then install and manage DMX-h from the Ambari web UI with just a couple of clicks.
Our award-winning, user-friendly ETL software can now be easily installed across all the data nodes in a Hadoop cluster.
This first release enables customers to quickly install and enable DMX-h on a provisioned Hortonworks cluster. DMX-h software is automatically installed on all data nodes in the cluster, without requiring scripting or network synchronization. Using the Ambari deployment assures the same version is properly installed throughout the cluster.
Apache Ambari has been undergoing a lot of exciting developments that makes it simple for software vendors to integrate. We are releasing on Ambari version 1.7, which adds support for Views and simple integration with the UI. It also made it simple for Syncsort to enable installation using the web UI on an existing cluster, and installation via the Cluster Install wizard for a new cluster. The Ambari Service Definition package being released today supports Ambari 1.7 and above for Hortonworks HDP 2.0.6 and above.
Once installed, the DMX-h components show up along other services running on the Hadoop cluster.
