Video: CEO Discusses How Syncsort Customers Optimize Infrastructure and Legacy Data Investments
Last week, during the Strata Data Conference in New York City, Syncsort’s CEO, Josh Rogers, appeared on SiliconANGLE TV’s theCUBE program. In the recorded interview, Josh and hosts John Furrier and Dave Vellante discussed Syncsort’s growth, the reasons driving the rebranding, and ongoing investment strategy. In addition, Josh addressed Syncsort’s focus on data governance, its leadership in Big Iron to Big Data, and acquisition of capacity management and data quality companies to bolster the Syncsort Integrate and Syncsort Optimize solutions. He also covered Syncsort’s partnerships with key platform providers and the new capabilities that Syncsort announced during Strata.
Josh started off by explaining how Syncsort refreshed its brand and messaging structure. The portfolio had grown so much that there was a need to tell people who they’ve become and show the value Syncsort can offer an organization. One of the main value propositions that Syncsort often deals with is how to take an existing investment/infrastructure and make it run as efficiently as possible. Syncsort all helps organizations figure out the best method to improve on governance and security without sacrificing the availability of the data.
Leaders in Big Iron to Big Data
Also explained is how Syncsort allows customers to optimize legacy investments for better cost and performance. They help them to maximize the value of the data generated within those environments by integrating it with next generation platforms for advanced analytics. Syncsort has bolstered its ability to help customers do this with strategic acquisitions over the past few years.
Partnerships and Announcements at Strata
Josh talked about Syncsort’s partnerships with key platform providers, including Cloudera, that most recently allowed them to rapidly certify DMX-h on their new releases, usually within a couple of days. Not only can customers take advantage of this, but Syncsort gets some visibility through it as well.
Lastly, Syncsort announced enhanced change data capture capabilities. The new capabilities enable a continuous, real-time data stream from multiple data sources to applications requiring immediate availability such as mobile banking, fraud detection, and cybersecurity.
